Book Review: Liar, by Justine Larbalestier
YA 5/5
When Micah’s boyfriend is found dead, Micah recounts the events of the investigation and the history between them. But Micah is a liar. I loved this fascinating, twisty story that made me continually revise what I understood about the plot.
Book Review: Throne of Glass, by Sarah J. Maas
Sword and Sorcery 3-/5
Celaena, a beautiful assassin, must compete for the position of King’s Assassin while also defeating the evil intentions of a hidden magical force. First book of the popular Throne of Glass series, I could see the elements the author used to draw in readers such as the strong romantic elements, but I found the characters flat.

Book Review: The Last Expedition, by Douglas Smith
Will Dreycott, a superhero and multi-millionaire publisher, and his girlfriend, Case, go to South America to finally discover what happened to their parents. The Dream Rider Saga books are wonderfully plotty, with amazing superhero and pulpy villains—and author Douglas Smith manages to tie up every last loose end to the trilogy—I’m in awe.
