Thanks to my writers’ group, I now have a work-around for my non-functional Word program on my iPad: Pages. I haven’t liked Pages in the past, but maybe they’ve upgraded it, because I was able to import my work seamlessly and the program seems functional. I hope this works!
FORCED! to subscribe to Word! Grrrr!
I’m going on a 10-day helicopter-supported hike next week so I put my files onto my iPad so I can work away if there is time. Now, it turns out I HAVE to have a subscription to Word or my Word on the iPad is read-only. Sigh. I have tried to avoid subscriptions!!!!! I guess I’ll have to subscribe for a month, to cover this 10-day period, then cancel the subscription–if (of course) I can figure out how to unsubscribe. They’ll make it purposely difficult, I’m sure. Luckily, the Word on my regular computer (this one) is one I purchased and don’t need a subscription.
Book Review: Through Black Spruce, by Joseph Boyden
Literary 3/5
Will Bird and his niece, Annie, live disparate lives in Moose Factory and New York, and their stories are interesting, but unlike with Three Day Road, I did not feel Through Black Spruce compelled me to read the final book of the trilogy.
Life gets in the way…
Painting an apartment this week…no writing. Sigh.
Book Review: Into the Woods, by John Yorke
Writing Craft 4/5
John York examines the classic Three Act Structure and divides the long Act II into three parts, giving the writer more defined beats to guide them through structuring a novel. I found the book very insightful and have added it to my reference bookshelf.
