Learning to use the iPad

So, in preparation for my trip, I am learning to use my iPad. I can’t be gone for 3 months and leave my writing behind, so I downloaded Microsoft Word for Mac. I was able to put one of my novels onto it, to take with me–so far, so good. Next step: leaning to use iCloud and Dropbox.

AFA Report Submitted!

Yay! Finished the second draft of my novel and my report for the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, to finalize my accountability for the grant I received last year. Hope they find it acceptable.

I have to say, I kind of liked doing the report–reviewing the goals I had when I applied for the grant and seeing how well I had met them. Because the novel was critted by beta readers, I had some good data to submit under various headings, along with my self evaluation. It gave me an opportunity to see how much I had accomplished with the novel, which was cool for me.

Rainforest is amazing, as always

Other than the fact that I lost a day backing up stuff onto Open Office, when both Pages and Word were being glitchy, the Rainforest was awesome with lots of work finished and a great opportunity to connect with old friends and meet new ones.

First of Two Writers’ Retreats

Yay! Loving an intimate, 7-person writers’ retreat with friends in the mountains. Writing all day and all evening, punctuated with an occasional trip to the hot tub and dinner/conversation about writing. Getting TONS done!
