Onyesonwu, discriminated against for her race, her magical ability, and her sex goes on a quest to bring her rapist-father to justice. The story was good, but slow.

Liesel, an orphan in Germany during World War II, witnesses the privation of war and the ethical issues of the treatment of Jewish people. Stunningly written and heart-wrenching.

Book Review: The Nightingale, by Kristin Hannah
Vianne struggles to survive the privations imposed by the German occupation during World War II while her sister, Isabelle, takes risks helping downed British pilots in France. I loved the edge-of-your-seat suspense mixed with a compelling portrait of the French Resistance and life in a small village.
