Final proof edits for Technicolor Ultra Mall were approved by the author and sent in to Edge Science Fiction and Fantasy Publishing yesterday, and they will finish the layout this weekend. Launch in the fall. Very exciting! Also, I finally bought paint, canvases and brushes and have completed two paintings, and am half way through the third. Plus, I have an idea for another short story–will likely get to that tomorrow when it rains.
I sold a novelette to Analog!
What a thrill! Stan didn’t want too much in the way of edits, either–just a few additional dialog tags on the first page and something other than “camera flash” on page 9. Did the changes and he got right back to me saying they were fine! My first novelette (10,200 words)! So, my second sale for 2011!
Short story submitted to workshop
Got my short story revised and sent out to the workshop for this summer. Next up: copy edits for my last Edge novel and communicating with my next Edge author! Then, got to get some short fiction out on the market.
Novel gone to beta readers
So, my beta readers now have the novel, so it’s back to short fiction. I have a piece completed for the workshop with Walter Jon Williams this summer that needs a last read through before submitting prior to the end of the month. Then I want to submit to a couple of markets I have my eye on. That should keep me busy until my beta readers come back with revision suggestions for the novel.
Congratulations to Aurora nominees!
To all of you–right on! But especially to the wonderful writers and artists I like to count among my friends – Rob Sawyer, Al Onia, Hayden Trenholm, Mike Gillett, Dan O’Driscoll, Brian Hades, Diane Walton! Interesting, only one woman on this list–maybe I have more male friends than female?
