I’ve been away from this novel for about a year, and am able to come back at it with fresh eyes and fresh ideas re: how to make it work better. I edited chapter one with particular emphasis on the conversation at the end, and am very happy with the changes. It is very exciting to be back at the novel. Short fiction is great, but I am really enjoying the novel!
Another new short story
Sorry for not posting for a while – I took 3 weeks’ holiday at the end of August, and so, wasn’t around. However, I’m back now and have just completed another short story. This one just seemed to pop out almost fully formed — only took a few days from beginning to end. I’ll have to leave it for a bit and come back to it later to see if I still like it.

STILL not quite finished!
I wasn’t going to post until the novella was done. I cut 10% and have it down to 27000 words. Still not enough! But — if I haven’t cut it so much it makes no sense — I think it is improved for the cutting. I am going to try for 25000 words.
Short Story Really Done!
Got the edits made, and then discovered that it isn’t due for a month. Still, nice to be done. Then i did some revisions to my novella, and hope to be done that this week.
