My fourth story to a Top Three publication! The story is called, “Turning It Off,” and it is a humorous piece about teenagers who learn how to turn off the private shields everyone wears to protect them from bumps and scrapes. With, of course, unintended results.
Finished the short story! Yay!
Rough draft of my new story is complete. I’ll polish it up for the end of the month, when I submit it for the summer workshop with Walter Jon Williams.
The edit is done – back to writing!
I sent the novel I am editing in to the publisher today, and am now back to my own writing. Managed to submit 3 stories to markets yesterday, and finish revising a story I started a while back that never had a satisfying ending. This one is now with my writers’ group. Tomorrow – after 4 errands – I hope to get back to the short story that is trying to claw its way out of my brain.
Did I Mention, I Have a New Story Idea?
Started it last week – I think it has promise. So much to do! But right now, I have Ryan’s novel back for one final look before I send it in to the publisher, so that is a priority. Back to writing in a couple of days!
I was interviewed on Adam Shaftoe’s Page of Reviews!
He made a podcast of our interview, which came up as a result of his review of my story, “Orange,” published in AE Science Fiction Review. You can hear the interview, here.
