Week Off

Took a week off to be off the grid: canoeing, horseback riding, hiking, shooting rifles, and climbing. VERY relaxing! NO WORK DONE ALL WEEK!

Editing Dribs and Drabs

I met with my last editing client via Zoom to discuss changes in his ms. and it went really well–he wants to hire me for his next book. Did an Afterword for the anthology and my co-editor liked it. Transcribed some interviews supporting a nonfiction book I’m working on with a homicide detective. Nice to catch up on little things.

Writers’ Retreat!

I finished both editing projects (as much as I can do for now) and I head out tomorrow on a short (2-day) writers’ retreat, which I find is always a great time to plot, because with no distractions (like laundry or dishes) I can keep all the plot balls in the air as I craft.

I’ll be plotting book 7 of my series (the final book). I’m waiting on the publisher for edits for Book 3 and I don’t want to do the edits for Book 4 (which the publisher already gave me) until I have Book 3 nailed; and books 5 & 6 are mostly drafted.

More editing projects–and a crime interview!

Worked on two current editing projects. One is about 75% done and I’ll finish this week; the other was tiny–almost finished, from my end. I’m also co-authoring a book on courage with a homicide detective and this week we interviewed a member of our city’s TAC team and a woman who left the sex trade. Super interesting work.
