Did a little research into doing a Patreon, but don’t have the time to devote to it right now. Cat Rambo’s looks amazing! But it also looks like a lot of work.

Book Review: Karen Memory, by Elizabeth Bear


Historical Fantasy 5/5

Karen, strumpet in a Seattle high-class bordello during the late 19th century discovers a plot to take over the town by a man who has invented a machine that can control individuals’ thoughts and actions. Steampunk in the old west is a delight, but the best parts of this book are the beautifully drawn characters and the twisty plot!

As predicted…


As predicted: painting an apartment this week, not writing. But it is nice to work with your hands and point to something and say, “I did that”–and be able to see it.

Not a lot of work done this week: I’ve been ruminating on my beta readers’ suggestions (they are good) and come up with an idea to address the central issues (that I agree with)…but not actual writing. And, I have to confess, this coming week will include painting my son’s apartment and cleaning our basement, so…
