Sigh. No problem working as a freelance editor–I have more projects than I can shake a stick at. My first one for 2016 is in full swing and a client who approached me last summer has come to follow-up on her initial request. However, I do know some other excellent freelance editors, so perhaps I can pass some business their way. There is just not enough time for my own projects!
Finished my third (final) editing project for 2015
Just under the wire, edited the first 10,000 words of an Angry Robot submission for a client. Really enjoyed these first two chapters–I would think they should get a publisher’s attention.

Research: Necessary Fun
New Orleans: what a location for a story–the jazz scene, the art scene, the bayou, the French heritage…but it was the plantations that were of particular interest to me in researching my pirate novel. The novel is set partly in the Caribbean (and I have been to Aruba and Salvador, Brazil), but not to a plantation or to slave homes. Rounding out the research!
