Productive week–of another kind

I decided to try to sell some of my paintings at a Christmas Craft sale, so I signed up to rent a table on November 23. This week I have been framing completed works like mad (I just love the effect the right colour of mat and the appropriate frame really brings out the best in a painting), and I painted a new work. Now I have about 18 pieces to sell, but I still have 3 weeks before the sale, so hope to have several more by then. I certainly have a plethora of sketches to work from.

Month Has Flown By

Back from Brazil and OMG, what an awesome trip! Highlights: Isabel’s parents are so warm and instantly family! Motorcycling through Chile’s narrow, winding mountain roads. Colonial villages with quaint B&Bs and a heritage steam locomotive. Surprise rock concerts that last all night long. Amazing wildlife along the Rio Mutum. Music, art and architecture of Savador. World War II history in Uruguay. And, I did start a short story.

Heading for Brazil on Monday

Going to visit Isabel’s parents and see something of a country that I know very little about. Did lots of research over the last 6 months, but I’m sure I will learn lots and be quite amazed by the geography, people and history. Can’t wait!

When Words Collide is over

The weekend was awesome. Sat on some fun panels and saw some that I really enjoyed. Partied, of course, and performed in the Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre Banquet. Was so happy to see people from the academic world, poetry, playwriting and literary genres come out–and a lot of very positive Facebook messages afterward. I think this festival just keeps getting better and better.
