My daughter had a very cool thought last night. She said writing a story is like writing an essay: you open with your idea (this is what I am going to say), then you present example after example that relates back to the main theme, then finish by saying what you said. Okay, clearly not through infodump, but through illustration. I love it!
No words this week, but —
Ten thousand words was my final count for last weekend — plus some revision. Here are photos of everyone working their tails off at the write-off:
Okay, so I can’t find my username and password for Photobucket. My daughter set me up for several accounts and used a different username and password for each of them, and do you think I can keep them all straight? I’ll upload the pictures after I get in touch with her and get it straightened out. Here’s the rest of my post:
And, I have ideas coming out my ears. Luckily, I have a voice recorder, so I don’t lose them. However, this weekend, I helped my sister move, so no writing time. Sigh. Soon!

Off to the races
Got the plot outline done last weekend (6 pages) and sent it off to my Kensington Writers’ Group for crit, got 5 crits over the week and made some changes / clarifications and began writing the content last night. have about 3000 new words (the first scene) done – no edits.
Thanks, Molly
Sorry for not posting for so long–
September is busy with school starting up. After my last post I went to our property out at Sundre to help clean up after the hail storm — painted a wall of the cabin and chopped some kindling while Don cut fallen logs into firewood. Last weekend, I went to visit my sister in Golden and help her tile her kitchen floor. She has just built a house and rented the one they live in — she has to move in a couple of weeks so whether her house is done or not, she needs to move. Having the kitchen done will make it liveable, even if the rest still needs work. It was a glorious weekend!
So, I’ve had a little break from writing, but back working on my short story today.
