My Kensington Writers’ Group will be critiquing the novel I finished last month, so that will be a great help. This weekend I began chapter two of another book in the series. Going well!

I woke up after eight delicious hours of sleep and the whole backstory to my book appeared in my head. I’ve just written it down. Today I have the whole day to write; tomorrow I go hiking. I should have my submission for the workshop finished today.
Rob’s reading last Tuesday was wonderful, as always — I love to hear him speak. About 12 of us went out afterward and it was great fun.
I always enjoy presenting at the Young Writers’ Conference – what an opportunity to work with students who love to write! Also, once a year i get an opportunity to network with a lot of local Alberta writers, sell some books and hear an inspiring keynote. Looking forward to it!
Isn’t it amazing how many errands can wait “until my week off?” So, here it is, Monday, and I’m just settling in to write. Sigh. However, I have 19 files on my tape recorder with ideas — things to revise, etc. — and let’s face it, the thinking is the hard part. However, I DID get my eighteen-year-old daughter’s graduation dress sewn. Turned out great, by the way: she looks like a Cinderella cream-puff, only blue.
So my husband, Don, is off to visit his 300-ton steam locomotive, “Bullet-Nosed Betty” for the weekend and we’re not skiing tomorrow, so I have a day to write! I didn’t think that would happen this weekend because today is a very special day: my son’s baby’s shower. So what with the need to get a few things done around the house, today is not a writing day. However, I have tomorrow’s scenes all planned out in my head. Yay!
