Will Bird and his niece, Annie, live disparate lives in Moose Factory and New York, and their stories are interesting, but unlike with Three Day Road, I did not feel Through Black Spruce compelled me to read the final book of the trilogy.

John York examines the classic Three Act Structure and divides the long Act II into three parts, giving the writer more defined beats to guide them through structuring a novel. I found the book very insightful and have added it to my reference bookshelf.
Did a little research into doing a Patreon, but don’t have the time to devote to it right now. Cat Rambo’s looks amazing! But it also looks like a lot of work.

Karen, strumpet in a Seattle high-class bordello during the late 19th century discovers a plot to take over the town by a man who has invented a machine that can control individuals’ thoughts and actions. Steampunk in the old west is a delight, but the best parts of this book are the beautifully drawn characters and the twisty plot!
