Oncologist Mukherjee shares stories from his practice as well as captivating details from the colourful personalities instrumental in the development of cancer surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. Not only was this book a fascinating read, full of stories about real historical personages and their amazing discoveries—and the politics that helped or hindered them—you also learn a lot about cancer and its treatment.
