I am editing a new novel, freelance, and am about half way through. Very much enjoying the work. I can take on very little freelance work (though as a member of CAFE, I could easily fill my plate to over-flowing), because I have so many other projects on the go. One or two gigs a year is about all I seem to be able to manage, while still getting my own writing, teaching, learning, and volunteer work done.
Novel Submitted!
My novel was rejected about 6 months ago, but with four paragraphs of critique from the editor–and a door open for resubmission. Ran it past my critique group and resubmitted this weekend. Yay!
Fabulous time at Nebulas
The Nebulas were awesome! Attended the banquet and caught up with several old friends–met new people. SFWA board meetings, as well–really accomplished at lot. A fantastic California weekend!
My story will be distributed at World Fantasy
Was invited to donate a story for free distribution at World Fantasy this fall. My publisher okayed a reprint of “The Director’s Cut,” a literary horror story–I think it will be cool to be in everyone’s book bag!
Off to the Nebulas!
Get to spend the weekend in San Jose, at the Nebula Awards Weekend! Looking forward to the entire thing–catching up with old friends, meeting new people, attending the banquet–should be tons of fun!
