Was invited to donate a story for free distribution at World Fantasy this fall. My publisher okayed a reprint of “The Director’s Cut,” a literary horror story–I think it will be cool to be in everyone’s book bag!
Off to the Nebulas!
Get to spend the weekend in San Jose, at the Nebula Awards Weekend! Looking forward to the entire thing–catching up with old friends, meeting new people, attending the banquet–should be tons of fun!
Speaking at the Library today
Today, I am speaking at the Calgary Public Library on Editing 101. I’m told that the session is full–should be a lot of fun.
Also, Finished editing my novel, based on comments from my critique group. Into the final pass before re-submitting.
I am nominated for an Aurora Award!
So thrilled! My short story, “The Gift,” in the Urban Green Man, is nominated for the 2014 Aurora Award for best short story! Happy Dance! Thanks to everyone who nominated me!
A productive week and SFWA secretary
Tons of work done at the write-off, and momentum all week. The novel is really shaping up! Also, I was notified this week that I was re-elected secretary for SFWA for another year. Yay!
