Heading for Brazil on Monday

Going to visit Isabel’s parents and see something of a country that I know very little about. Did lots of research over the last 6 months, but I’m sure I will learn lots and be quite amazed by the geography, people and history. Can’t wait!

When Words Collide is over

The weekend was awesome. Sat on some fun panels and saw some that I really enjoyed. Partied, of course, and performed in the Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre Banquet. Was so happy to see people from the academic world, poetry, playwriting and literary genres come out–and a lot of very positive Facebook messages afterward. I think this festival just keeps getting better and better.

When Words Collide–awesome!

So, I attended Michael Cassutt’s screen writing workshop on Wednesday and Thursday–it was awesome! And, so good to see so many people from all over–Michael, of course, and David B. Coe, Hayden Trenholm, Suzanne Church, Barb Galler-Smith, Diane Walton, Susan McGreggor Gerald Brandt, Rob Sawyer, Adrienne Kerr, to name a very few. I could go on! Also met some new, and very wonderful people–Patty Briggs (a great singer, btw, and her husband is fantastic on the guitar), Barbara Fradkin (sooo friendly!) and Jamis Paulson. I knew Shirley Smith Matheson prior to WWC, but had never heard her speak–so funny and sharp!

Relaxing by the river for the long weekend

Weather was great for sitting by the river, watching the kids play in the sand, splash in the backwater (tons of mud for tons of fun) and throw rocks into the water. Ate too well, of course, and got thoroughly infused with smoke at the campfire. Even played the guitar a little–but mostly sang as others played.

Chapter 12 done

Editing Terry’s novel today–chapter 12 done! Really enjoying the process, but I am finding it takes on average about 10 hours per chapter.
