Write-Off Tomorrow

Four solid days of nothing to do but write–it will be fantastic! I’ll finish my novel edits for Edge Press today, so my plate is clear. Then: revise Chapter 10 and write Chapter 11 of “Magiers,” which is where my excitement is really boiling right now. BUT I also got an excellent rejection from IMGS that I want to follow up and I had a super critique on Tuesday for a new short story that I want to follow up on…and then there is another novel to revise for a May submission…Four days might be a little short.

Another story sent out

So, I did an edit of my new story and will let it sit for a month before another pass, then it goes into the workshop. I had another look at a story I finished before Christmas and was pleased that it stands up (I made a couple of minor wording changes), so submitted it. Continuing with the novel!

The edit is done – back to writing!

I sent the novel I am editing in to the publisher today, and am now back to my own writing. Managed to submit 3 stories to markets yesterday, and finish revising a story I started a while back that never had a satisfying ending. This one is now with my writers’ group. Tomorrow – after 4 errands – I hope to get back to the short story that is trying to claw its way out of my brain.

Rainforest Writers’ Retreat on Wednesday!!

Finished editing the novel for Edge (this round, at least) and want to get mucho short fiction out on the market in the next 2 days because Wednesday I head to the Olympic peninsula west of Seattle for Patrick Swensen/Fairwood Press’s writers’ retreat. THAT is reserved for my novel! Can’t wait!

Submitted “Thieves”

…to the Amazon.com novel contest. They say they take science fiction and fantasy, but I am not holding my breath about an SFF book winning. However, I’d like to at least make the first cut. They cut 5000 manuscripts down to 1000 by the end of February, based on the 300 word blurb. This will give me some feedback on my blurb-writing!
