Went to a cool concert last night: We Will Rock You, a Queen extravaganza, with all their music set to a science fiction scaffolding about a rebel named Galileo and his friend, Scaramouche who want to re-discover banned rock music. The cast really sold it, and the audience of 2500+ was on their feet cheering by the end. Producer Jeff Parry, whose memoir I am editing, invited Don and me to the after party. Very cool.
Progress!
Despite all the holiday preparations and commitments, I managed to get some good writing in this week. Coming up to the major climax, which is always fun. Lots of moving chess pieces into place!
Taste of Local Authors
Got a chance to read from Bursts of Fire at the Owl’s Nest Bookstore for A Taste of Local Authors. There was a great lineup of wonderful authors and books! A lovely evening.
Anna’s Art Show
Had a lovely day at Anna’s Art Show, selling my paintings and books. Attendance was down this year, so sales weren’t great, but it was a fun day, and lots of people came by to talk about art. The other artists had some beautiful pieces, too.
Busy week
Taught at the Alexandra Centre, worked at the IFWA books table at Calgary Comic Expo, worked on the developmental edit of a memoir, and took on a new short story from an existing client. Oh, and submitted to Fantasy Magazine. Yeah–lots accomplished this week!
