Trillionist has gone to the publisher and now I am trying to dig myself out of set-aside emails and put-off jobs–like applying for grants (all the applications seem to be due next week). Also, I have almost finished the edits for the three new stories to be included in my collection, due out from Five Rivers Chapmanry this fall. It would all be so much easier if I weren’t battling an energy-flattening cold!!
Applying for grants
So, all the grant applications seem to have deadlines of January 31. What does that mean? It means, stop writing for a bit and apply! I guess getting a grant is a long shot, but hey, you definitely don’t get one if you don’t apply. It’s a kind of writing, right?
Short Story Collection!
I’ve signed with Five Rivers Chapmanry to put out a short story collection of nine of my past stories from Analog, Asimov’s, OnSpec, Tesseracts and AESF Review, plus three new stores. Very exciting!
I sold a novelette!
“Rent In Space,” a 10,000 word novelette sold to Analog magazine! Stan had only a couple of small changes requested, and asked for a quick turn around so he could get it into his late 2012 lineup. So I made the fixes and sent it back to him the next day, and today he accepted them! Yay!
Website Update and Grant Application
So, I applied for a Calgary 2012 grant for the novel I intend to write next year, and in the process, decided to check over my website for updates. I do the blog every week or so, but decided to check all the pages…and you know, there were reviews of some of my newer work that I hadn’t posted! That, and, of course, updating my bio to include latest sales. So, not writing, but writing-related!
