Editing up to chapter 25, so over halfway. Lost a bit of work and had to recreate it. Frustrating–I know better!
Book Review: The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak
Historical 5+/5
Liesel, an orphan in Germany during World War II, witnesses the privation of war and the ethical issues of the treatment of Jewish people. Stunningly written and heart-wrenching.
Still editing the novel!
Edited up to Chapter 18. Slow but steady.
Book Review: The Nightingale, by Kristin Hannah
Vianne struggles to survive the privations imposed by the German occupation during World War II while her sister, Isabelle, takes risks helping downed British pilots in France. I loved the edge-of-your-seat suspense mixed with a compelling portrait of the French Resistance and life in a small village.
Home from the Writing Retreat
Back home from the retreat. Edited to the end of Chapter 13. Going well!
